Spotted Skunk - Finished by JitterBugBark Spotted Skunk - Finished by JitterBugBark
This is a spotted skunk. The pattern was hand drawn by me. The plushie is hand sewn by me.

There's a pouch of tiny glass beads in the belly for added weight. The feet are filled with plastic pellets. The rest of the body is stuffed with poly fill.

The skunk is approximately 8.5" from nose to butt. The tail is approximately 5" long. The skunk stands approximately 5.5" from feet to top of the head.

The body is faux fur, and the insides of the ears are faux pink suede.

I hope you all like it. :)

This is so cute and well done! I'm not sure that I've ever seen hand-sewing that so neat. And you have amazing attention to the fur direction, something which many miss. Fantastic job!

Sweet. I'll see if I can afford one when you open your commissions up again :) I would like a plush skunk, and this is the exact way I'd want it. My only problem is making sure I can afford it XD You take Paypal I take it?

Yes, I do accept PayPal.

You'd like a spotted Skunk? I'm sure I could make another. :)

I'm not sure when I'll have commissions open again. Maybe not until summer.

Hmmm... the spotted one is cute, but I think I'm more interested in just the striped one. When is summer over there? I assume in April kind of area? That's when our Winter starts... about...

A normal skunk. I could do that. :)

Summer would be June/July-ish..

This is absolutely fantastic. It looks like there are a lot of parts to this one!
If I may ask, how did you do the border of the eyes? Did you hand sew it?

Thank you! :) It was difficult to make because of the stripes. Every plush is a challenge when I haven't made it before.

The liner around the eyes is leather cording. No sewing necessary.

I can imagine. Thinking up completely new patterns and trying them out just like that can get tough :o

That makes a lot more sense, and it looks great! Kudos on the fantastic work! Keep it up :)

Animals that are real are easier to make into plushies. At least for me. I can find lots of pictures for references online. When it's something that's made up, or hard to find pictures for, then I have difficulty.

Thank you! I hope to be making plushies for at least 4 more years. :)

That's very true, because then you only have a couple views of the character, and it's hard to imagine what it would look like in 3D.

Why 4? :o

I've had to make a plush based only on a side view of the character. That was 2 years ago now. I have no idea how I did it. :XD:

My son will be 4 and I'll have to get a job. I don't think I'll have time to make plushies anymore.

Wow! I'm impressed! I assumed it turned out well?

Awwww! It's cute that you have a kid :) But saddening that there won't be time for plushies anymore. I guess what's gotta be done, has to be done! Hopefully you'll be able to find some spare time every once in a while :)

Yeah, I was surprised that I made it! The commissioner was so happy, and the person who's character it was was also very happy! (It was a gift)

Here's the Dogbunny: [link]

I have 2 kids. My daughter turned 3 last month. :)

I honestly don't know if I'll be able to make plushies again when I start working. Maybe on weekends..?

Um, how much money would a plushie of this size and effort go for? Just wondering. ^^

Honestly, it depends on the creature. If you send me a note with a picture of what you'd like made, I'll give you some prices. :)

Ummm. Hm. Well, how 'bout a 10 inch by 10 inch natural color wolf? (brownish/gray fur, brown/black tones and/or highlights). That's just what I'm interested in. Also, I know you're not doing commissions, I'm just curious. ^^

I'd honestly have to see a reference picture.. It's better for me to see the actual animal, than trying to picture it in my head. Sorry. >.<

I have some coyote faux fur that looks similar. :)

10" would be really small.. Does that include the tail?

Hmm. Um. XD No, I guess not. If it's small. I'm not too familiar with this stuff. So no, not including the tail.

A lot of my plushies are 10" long, not including the tail. My base price for a floppy, single color plush is $75US+shipping.
